Johnson’s Corner Farm in Medford, NJ
If you’re looking for a place where the kids can run, play, see animals, and actually experience something outdoors, Johnson’s Corner Farm in Medford is definitely one to put on your list.
Johnson's Corner Farm is located on Church Road in Medford and has become one of those family spots that can turn an ordinary day into a little adventure. The farm offers seasonal activities throughout the year, including pick-your-own crops, hayrides, the Discovery Barnyard & Animal Farm, and plenty of farm-market goodies.
🐐 Come for the animals, stay for the playground
One of my favorite things about a farm outing is when the kids can actually do something instead of just walking around looking at things. Johnson’s Discovery Barnyard gives kids plenty of opportunities to burn off some energy.
There are farm animals to see and feed, multiple play areas, pedal go-karts, climbing areas, sand play, a pretend farm, and splash pads during the warmer months.
For little ones especially, this can easily become a few hours of play rather than a quick stop.
🌻 There’s always something different
Another reason Johnson’s Farm is worth keeping on your family bucket list is that the experience changes with the seasons.
Depending on the time of year, families can enjoy pick-your-own crops, hayrides, flowers, summer harvests, fall pumpkins and apples, and holiday activities. The farm has more than 100 acres, so it really feels like you’re getting out of the everyday routine for a little while.
And honestly, isn't that what we're always looking for as moms? Somewhere the kids can put down their screens, get some fresh air, and come home tired.
🍎 Don't leave without checking out the market
After the kids have had their fun, make sure you leave some time for the farm market.
Johnson’s Farm has a bakery and market with seasonal treats, fresh produce, prepared foods, and ice cream.
And if your kids are anything like mine, the promise of a special farm treat can be the perfect motivation for getting everyone back to the car without an argument.
💰 A mom tip: plan your budget
One thing I would recommend before going is to check the website ahead of time and decide which activities you actually want to do. Some attractions are separately ticketed, so the cost can add up if you try to do everything.
The Discovery Barnyard currently lists day-pass pricing separately, and hayrides and other seasonal activities can have their own tickets.
My advice: Pick the activities your kids will enjoy the most rather than feeling like you have to do everything in one visit.
